Makayla's Baptism was definitely a COVID baptism full of curve balls. We didn't know when, how many, or how until right before. We were encouraged to have 20 or less (we did the best we could!), friends and family calling in on Zoom to watch, masks, and a shortened version in 30 minutes. Despite all the restrictions, we still made it a special day and she got baptized and received the Holy Ghost. Which is the MOST important part. That morning was actually quite relaxing since we got a call that morning let us know the font was behind and that her baptism was getting pushed back an hour. So we flip flopped and had the luncheon first! Family came over and ate and then we headed over to the church. We made it just after the group before us left. Hurried and got in and started so we could get out before the next group showed up. We did short little thoughts and Levi accompanied Makayla in singing Peace In Christ. Her cousins Nora, Emery, Emily, and Kate sang the chorus with her. It was so sweet to hear Makayla's sweet voice and the truth behind them all singing about where we find Peace. It truly helped bring the spirit there. We had Levi and I, chosen by Makayla since we kept it in the family, to give little short short thoughts before the ordinance and the Holy Ghost. Zack and Garrett were her witnesses. So fun to be able to have any member do that now. It was so sweet to have so much family participation and for her brothers to be apart of it as well. Makayla was just beaming!!! It was such a sweet day for our sweet girl. She was all smiles!
