Backpacking/Ruth Lake

The boys planned, inherited some equipment, and were really excited to go on their first backpacking trip. They decided a short quick one would be good for this time so they headed to Ruth Lake. 

 The next day we met up with Grandma, Grandpa, and Garrett and hiked in to join them for the day. I love the Uintah's and it was just what we needed. A day to shut off and enjoy being outside. The kids spent most of the time fishing. Garrett was the only one to catch one while we were there, and they even cooked it up and tried it! It was beautiful! We hiked out after dinner and even caught a moose on the way out taking a drink off the road. It was a great day!

The boys spent one more night. They hiked out and dumped their backpacks before doing about a 5 or more day hike around to visit a few different lakes (and even one dried up one). They had so much fun!
