Goblin Valley/Slot Canyon Hike
We kinda last minute decided to join the Johnson's on an overnighter to Goblin Valley one weekend. Bumpa, Grandma, and aunt Krista joined us for the hike through Goblin Valley and the very windy dinner at the campground. The wind made it a little tough for those without sunglasses to hike around the hoodoos, but we made it quite awhile and the kids still had a blast exploring the different rock formations and climbing all over like monkeys. With our tent blowing away about 3 different times, we almost packed up and headed home. Our dinner consisted of sandy hotdogs, but we survived. We decided to wait it out and see what happened. The kids were happy to hike around and catch lizards. Graham was very upset at bedtime thinking out tent was going to blow away, but it settled down. Eventually everyone fell asleep and the wind disappeared. The next day we loaded up and headed over to White Horse Slot Canyon hike. It was SO PRETTY! Made the trip worth it! The kids had so much fun climbing up the canyon walls. We hiked around for a few miles and then headed back to dissemble the camp site the rest of the way and head home. We stopped at the 3 sisters and walked around that on the way out. We also stopped along the highway to search for petrified wood. I was able to find one tiny piece! It was a fun mini trip and some very memorable moments were made!
