CAMPING!

The kids had camping as one of their last items on their summer wishlist. Since our ward has not done and father's and sons or ward campouts in the last few years, we have had few opportunities. Ill be honest, camping with babies is not high on my priority list. Anyways, since Graham is getting a tad bigger, we gave it a go. Dan had to work and since we were smart, we didn't reserve a spot earlier in the week. So I packed and loaded all the kids up and headed up past Huntsville to find us a spot up Ogden Canyon there. We scrambled to find one in the first few campgrounds and luckily got the last one in the one we stayed at! Now setting up a 3 dome tent with 5 kids and dog, keep in mind I don't think I have EVER put this thing up, was no short of a miracle. Zack or Levi followed Graham around the entire time while I scrambled to get pretty much 3 tents put together. An hour or so later....we did it!!!! The kids were so excited to be in the dirt and to sleep in a tent. When we were done we headed down the hill to kill some time at the reservoir before picking Dan up from work. It made me want to go back with some paddleboards! The kids swam and skipped rocks. After we grabbed Dan and some dinner we headed back for games, smores, and a little walk. Kids were asleep by 10 and didn't wake up till about 6:30 when the dog next door decided to come too close to the tent causing Millie to growl and wake up Nate and Graham. Considering there were 7 of us and a dog crammed in those tents, I think that was pretty dang good! It got a tad chilly so a morning fire was a must while we ate and packed up. It was a fun experience and gave me confidence in doing it again someday!
