Huge Day- and probably a favorite! Even though I think I could say that about each day we spent there:)
We started straight off heading down to Battery Park to catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. The views were beautiful! The Statue of Liberty was amazing to see. Such an iconic site! We then took the ferry over to Ellis Island.
We took the ferry over to Ellis Island next. Walking through the registry room and gaining an appreciation for the history there was a highlight for me for that morning.
We hit up a food fav. Los Tacos for lunch.
We walked through the City Office buildings to head to the Brooklyn Bridge. We rented some city bikes and rode the bikes all the way across the bridge and back. We then got a tad lost since we couldn't find a return spot for our bikes since they were full! We rode in the direction of the 9-11 Museum until we found one.
This was a trip favorite. The 9/11 Museum. Having been alive and having memory of this day, and reading about the many accounts and seeing the building remnants brought such a solemn yet proud of humans moment for me. There are many many brave people who did amazing things during an incredibly hard time.
We found Alexander Hamilton at the Trinity Church
Then we headed to Wall Street! Dan was excited for this one. We even stopped at the Bull. We decided to stick with the head this time:)
We headed to the Bryant Park since Rockefeller wasn't ready yet, so we could go ice skating. So fun ice skating in New York in the middle of all these tall buildings.
We had to grab some New York cheesecake to bring back to the hotel before our tired feet CRASHED for the final night in New York!
