New York Day 1

First time leaving the kids for longer than a night! We left grandma and grandpa with about 5 pages full of instructions for schedules, school, and anything else they would need and headed off to the airport.

Our Uber drive to the hotel-the driver was from the Dominican Republic so Dan had a great time reminiscing!
The view from our hotel. We were right by the Maceys from the Miracle on 34th street.

Since we were so close we scheduled the Empire State Building that night. We walked there and walked the streets a bit to get an idea of what was around our hotel first. We grabbed a bite at Shake Shack right there. The Empire State Building had some fun stuff to walk through before getting to ride the elevator up up up. Pretty awesome sights from that high to see the city at night with the lights. It was my favorite views!

After that we wandered over to Times Square. That place was crazy! Street vendors, (Dan even got suckered into a $20 Black Lives Matter CD because he didn't want to get in trouble for being racist. HA!) street performers, checkers players, people dressed up, preachers on stools and microphones, protestors, so many different types of people. We walked through. Visited a shop or two and then headed back to the hotel for the night.

Crazy street perform flipping over people
Chess player right in the middle of the streets
We sent this to the kids to tell them we found Spiderman in New York
