Patsy's Mine Hike

We randomly decided to take a hike one Saturday morning. I had read that Patsy's Mine was .7 miles in and pretty kid friendly. So, we tried it! Well, we struggled to find the trailhead. We thought we had to be close since we could see a landmarked it was by. There were two trailheads we were looking at, one left and one right. ALWAYS CHOOSE THE RIGHT. We chose the left one and it literally went straight up the mountain. It was crazy. We found about halfway up that it would be better to drag all these littles up the hill and find a better way down then to try to slide on our rears all the way back down. When we got to the top we couldn't see any trail anywhere. Hot, with not enough water, and with tons of littles, we were prepared to create our own zigzags down the mountain, when Zack yelled, "Look! A guy running down the mountain!" Sure enough, this neon green shirt runner ended up running on the trail, which ended up being about 15 yards from where we were sitting hidden in trees! We asks him how far the mine was, and we were about 3 minutes down the trail. We ended up exploring and having a lot of fun with a new adventure. Especially since the way down was a lot better (on the correct trail!). We were still hot and all got HUGE drinks at the gas station on our way home. I couldn't help but relating our experience to us here on earth. We don't exact know the exact way to go through life or what lies ahead, or having making a bad choice, but we keep going in faith, during trying points in our life when we are pushed to our limits and seem lost, Christ steps in and helps us, in our case that light in our life was a neon shirt. We all came out of that stronger and had a little fun along the way. These are the memories I love making with my kids! I was especially happy we didn't find anything in the mine!!!!
