Zack's 12th Birthday!

Zack was just happy by his birthday he was down to one crutch! Progress! Grandma came up a few days before to take Zack out for his birthday. They went out and got a treat and picked out a Switch Game for his game night with his friends.

Zack wanted to take a picture with the sunset:)

Birthday Fun! He wanted his yearly Red Velvet cookies so we kept with tradition! He had early out that day so he got to come home early and open a present to play with. When Levi got home Zack opted on going to the mall to go shopping instead of an activity. Since he is a tad inhibited the idea of new clothes and pretzel bites was more exciting! Afterwards, we asked him best buddies (not pictured was Preston who had headed home already) over to have pizza, ice cream, and play his new Switch Game. They had a blast! It was a good day!

Zack at 12. Zack has had quite a rough couple months, but he has handled it so well. We are so proud of his determination and resiliency. He constantly is surprising us. He misses playing soccer, basketball, and anything active. It is a big part of being a preteen boy! He is still super smart and is scheduled to take the accelerated math test soon. He is sailing through 6th grade with all good notes. He is pretty shy and currently has 2 girls at school who are driving him bonkers. One has a major crush on him. He came home one day all upset because the new seating chart put them by him and they wouldn't let him get his work done. The thing that really upset him was that they stood in his way in front of the door and wouldn't let him out and with his knee he couldn't force his way out. I was really trying hard not to laugh. He was complaining of them drawing on his papers, asking him to be their boyfriend, and following him at recess. Such a rough life:) I think most days he actually doesn't mind the attention, but that day he was not happy! He is a cute kid and has some fun friends. He is a Dragon Leader at school and seems to thrive. He chose music as a special to focus on for the last part of the year. They will be doing a program soon and him and his friend Kevin will be doing something with a Ukelele. He has made some progress on his Cello, but doesn't seem interested in continuing next year. I wish he would! He has also continued his piano lessons, which he still won't push himself in, but is progressing. He has such a good ear for music! We will see how long he lasts! He still loves his gaming. He also has become quite the avid reader lately with a little more down time. We love our Zack! Even when he drives me nuts avoiding work at all times, like he just disappears. It is like he is allergic or has a six sense for those things. He enjoys taking 20 minutes in the bathroom every time he needs to poop. Also that he is in a competition with Makayla to always be the last out the door. He has a heart of gold, a determination to succeed, and really has shown us so much strength and courage this year. We love his guts!!!!
