Makayla's Birthday

While Makayla was at school we ran to get balloons. I had my hands full of kids and balloons and a sweet rather old lady came to my aid. She helped me stuff this wad of balloons into my car!

Makayla started the day off having her birthday celebrated at preschool. I was invited to see her all about me, where they let her bring 5 of her favorite things, asked her questions, sang to her, gave her a book, and we brought some treats for her friends. It was a great start to her special day!

We got home and set up her party! She chose a kitty party. It was easy to run with and we had some fun together making these decorations and bags for her friends. I tell the kids I will do one like this when they are 5! 5 year olds are so easy to please and it really is a fun age to do a birthday party. The kids came and played for a long while at first and we got them all decked out in their cat ears and faces. Then we did pin the collar on the kitty, duck-duck goose, but as cat-cat-mouse, and colored our cat pictures. Then we did presents, cupcakes and ice cream. After we did a yarn game, the kids had a dance party, and then grandma blew some bubbles. The kids loved to just run around and play and I almost wish we had about 15 more minutes for them to play some more. It was such a fun day and Makayla was pee her pants excited about all of it. It was so cute to see her light up with all those friends showing up for her birthday. So worth all the effort!

After a soccer game, Makayla requested Rumbii's for dinner. We headed right home afterwards to sing to her and give her her present. She got her own kindle and she was beyond thrilled! It was such a fun day spoiling our little girl!
