Nate's Surgery

After 2 months of pain for Nate, we had enough! I felt so bad for this kid and his continual pain. He seemed to always have fluid behind his ears building up. After his tubes fell out, he immediately had another ear infection that perforated his eardrum. A few weeks later, he had another one. At that point with our doctors encouragement, we called and scheduled the surgery. They scheduled it a few days later! I was almost glad they didn't give me time to sit and stew for very long because I was dreading this! I did not want to see them wheel him away. If I could trade his place I would! That fear ate at me for the few days before. They were a little behind that morning so we were able to give him lots of loves before they did the surgery. He got to pick out a stuffed frog and put on their tiny gowns. This tough guy handled it all like a champ and I put on my brave face until they did wheel him away on the bed. Then I melted. He didn't even cry, but his face was pure nerves. After the doc came and told me it all went well and he was waking up, I finally could breath. He did well, his tubes were placed and we agreed with the doctor that his adenoids should be removed. This will hopefully help prevent more infections after the tubes fall out again. He was a tad frustrated when he woke up with his throat. After they brought a popsicle he felt much better! He just kept asking for more of them:) After another half hour they let us go home. On the way home he said, "I got 2 popsicles, a fawog (frog), a sushee(slushy), that was FUN!" We were pretty sure he still had anesthesia in him!!! He was a tad tired,  pale, and occasionally cranky for the next day or so, but he did well. We found out after a few days that he is allergic for sure to Amoxicillin now and had to stop that. He has been battling hives till they exit his system. This poor kid does it all with a smile. He is such a tough guy and has had to put up with a lot. We love our Nato and hope that with this done now that he will be pain free for awhile and that happy boy can stay all the time. So glad that day is behind us!!!

Zack had his 2nd grade performance and grandma came up for it. He did so good on his part and I have to say, he was the most handsome second grader there!!! She also stayed and took Makayla out for her birthday and for Makayla and Nate's soccer game. We love grandma days!!!!

Makayla scored 4 goals at her game and Nate got one, if you count running and throwing it in the net:) He was absolutely hilarious at this game. He has been so hesitant at the games, but he came out to play that night! He got the ball often and dribbled it all the way to the goal, he was so close many times. The first time he got the ball he was so excited that he kept dribbling well past the goal and clear down to the baseball area. It was hilarious to see his face so determined and not caring at all where the lines were. Love these kids and I love little kid soccer. So funny!!!

Nate decided to put my credit cards down the cold air return vent....it was funny AFTER Dan came home from school and got them out!
Kindergarten roundup for this almost Kindergartner. I cannot believe she will be joining the boys in August. She asks to go now she is so excited! She will rock it, but I am nervous! She is so tiny!!! Why do they have to grow up?????
