Spring Break Part 1

We were off of school on Friday, and since I was unsure of weather for the next week, we went to the Dinosaur Park! It was a nice day and the sun was out! The kids loved it and didn't want to leave. Zack, who is famous for his strong remarks said, "This is the funnest place ever, I don't want to leave!"And proceeded to pout the entire way to the car.

Monday, we were going to the Treehouse Museum, long story short they cancelled their reading program, didn't have it listed on their website, and it was going to cost way too much full price for all of us! So, after a complaint because it was not included in their cancelled days online, they are sending me free tickets. So, while we wait on those, we hit up another item on our bucket list! The kids love the airplane museum!

Snowy Spring Break! Boo! But, we are making the best of it!
We visited Dad for lunch at Chick-Fil-A. We got a kick out of their 3 faces crammed in the window yelling for us. They are such good friends and I love it!
Levi and I finished Mosiah so for FHE we hit up Cherry Berry for his reward! Zack is reading the picture book version a page at a time. The other day he walked up to me and said, "Mom did you know that Enos is Jacob's son?" So proud of their dedication to read every night.

Today  after piano, we went to Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. They LOVED it! We almost had the theater to ourselves and it was actually a really cute movie!

Easter 2016

We headed down to Eagle Mountain's egg hunt on Saturday morning. The older kids got a good haul, but the younger ones struggled a bit this year! It may have helped if they got a little more than a tiny tootsie roll in their five eggs! Ha! They had fun doing it, and that is all that mattered!

Afterwards, we had the Hegerhorst Easter Party. The kids did some games, followed by the egg hunt and dinner. It was a blast as always!

We headed home and dyed our Easter eggs!
Since we have 9 o'clock church we got up running. I didn't get a good picture before church since Zack was upset about his socks and Nate was cranky....so we tried again after church. My cuties in their Easter bow ties and dress. They looked so cute!!!!
Before church fail...but super cute anyways!

After church we started our fun with the traditional Easter basket scavenger hunt. This year was so fun since 2 of them could read the clues! They were off running and so excited! Every time they knew where the next clue was you could see the light bulb moment and they would yell and run!!!! It was too fun and even Makayla did well. We just wrote the locations on hers and she got to the point where she ran and got them on her own. It was a lot of fun this year. After Zack finished he said, "We HAVE to do this again next Easter!"

Following our basket hunt was our Easter egg hunt. We let Makayla start on one side and set the boys loose on the other side of the yard. No need. We put out TONS of eggs and they all had too much candy! They ran around crazily for a few minutes and even Nate got into it. He found a few eggs, managed to get them open, and went to town!

I love Easter. It really is probably my second favorite holiday, behind Christmas! We have so much fun as a family. We read most nights what happened the week leading up to Christ's resurrection. It was neat to be able to teach and learn with our kids about the true meaning of Easter. I love spending time with my family and love the happy excited faces of my sweet kids!

March

We have enjoyed this app this month. The kids LOVE it and we have had a lot of good laughs from it!

Dan and his family (those that could make it) went and did the sealing for his grandparents, and his mom to her parents. It was a neat experience and one I wish I could have gone to! We are so blessed to be close to temples and for the gospel. It is moments like these that my testimony of eternal families grows. I love my family and I am so grateful to know that this life is not it. It was a special day!
Spent a lot of time in the car for soccer practice these last 2 weeks since the boys got rained out most of the time. They still played and loved it! We loved being in the car!
 Miss Sass

I broke down the day before Nate was going in for his ear surgery and we cut his hair. It looks so much better! I am only sad because it also makes him look so much older!

Before and after

We withheld food after 11, and got up nice and early to get Nate there by 6:30am. He was doing well, even with a pretty hard nights sleep. The Anesthesiologist came after the doctor talked to us to get Nate. His name was also Nate and he was a very nice kid friendly guy. It was hard to hand him over, but it was comforting that he was snuggling with the doctor all the way down the hall. I knew they would take care of him. The surgery took 10 minutes. They came and talked to us and within 15 more minutes they called us back and Nate dove in my arms. He looked completely ok. He was hungry, a little tired, and bored as we had to wait 30 minutes before we could leave. He inhaled the graham crackers they finally gave him and we headed home. The doctor told us after placing the tubes that his ears were infected. He said "When he gets infected, HE GETS INFECTED!" There was quite a bit of drainage that came out of the side that perforated twice. He told us he will be happier, sleep better, hear better, and even walk better. We are so happy that he has finally gotten some relief!!!!
 Big brother piggie back rides!

We have watched a lot of basketball in this house for March Madness. The boys were really into it this year!
We love Spring!!!! Now if only it would stay!!!!

Dan built the boys a ram. It made them feel like daredevils and not too high that mom had a heart attack when Zack went over it! He still has not grasped the 'lift the handlebar' at the end part and nose dives it a little.

We drove down south and Kellie and McKay watched our kids so we could go to the Provo City Center Temple dedication. It was a neat experience! Growing up going to Stake Conference there has given that temple a special meaning to me.
Uncle K and Aunt Kellie taking the kids for a hike while we were gone behind their house. They found some deer! 7 kids 7 and under....piece of cake!

She insists on pushing Nate EVERYWHERE! "Mom I do it!" "Mom I hep you!"
1 more week with these suckers! Unless he changes his mind!

The kids once again got good grade doughnuts!
Zack's teacher didn't write a whole lot this time, but she said:
Zackary has done such a great job this term. He is eager to please and well liked by his classmates. Please continue to work on sight words, reading, retelling and writing daily. Thank you for your continued support!

He is reading at a level F and had perfect marks for term 3!
Levi's teacher always writes the best stuff!
Levi has come all the way out of his shell! He is confident in his academics and is so willing to share and help others. I was shocked the other day when Levi was reading to me-that kid who read quietly without expression was gone. He was doing character voices, added sound-effects, and ad-libbed a little one-liner joke into the middle of it. It was so fun to hear! It seemed like somebody flipped a switch in him to a higher-level learning gear. Now that he's decided to learn anything and everything, nobody will be able to stop him. I don't know how Levi's humongous personality fits inside his pint-sized body! We're grateful to have a leader like Levi in our class.

I'm so proud of my boys and their continual hard work at school. Both get tired and both keep at it! That goes with everything in life.
