9 Months Old

Nathan turned 9 months this month. We will get better pictures than in the tub eventually! Christmas time is CARAZY and this poor kid has had a little rougher of a month so far! Nate has had a little runny nose forever. At his 9 month checkup he weighed in about 19 lbs. 11oz. (I still need to get his stats, they didn't give them to me this time!). He had a small cough when he went in for his 9 month checkup on the day before he turned 9 months. The doctor cleared him with clear lungs and ears. So I didn't worry too much. He received a booster for his flu shot. Between that and teething I was not shocked that he had a low grade fever the next evening. He was in on Friday and by Sunday we kept him home with a fever. On Wednesday I noticed quite a bit of discharge coming out of his left ear. He had done this before but it was gone by lunch. Well that did not happen this time. It kept draining. So, I took him in on Thursday. Just as suspected, his eardrum had perforated and the other was infected. HE HAD JUST BEEN CHECKED ON FRIDAY!!!! How does that even happen in 2-3 days? Anyways, he is such a happy happy guy that it is just hard to tell. He does not even itch his ears. He is not a fan of sleep so he cries when you lay him down almost every time. He does get more mad cries I think when his ears bug him though. He has an appointment with the ENT doctor just in case this has happened twice to the same ear. We will get all our questioned asked just in case this randomly happens again and we have to get tubes. He is now done with antibiotics and I would say feels much better, but I could hardly tell he was not feeling good!!!! Nate is the smiliest little guy. It is super cute too since he popped out 2 more teeth up top making it a total of 6 cute teeth poking out now. He loves to interact with people and jabbers away. He loves to give hugs too. He is such a determined little guy that I have a feeling he will be walking in no time! He figured out his legs the week after he turned 9 months and has been crawling around so happy since. He would get on all fours, but it took him a bit to figure out his legs. He actually to go faster crawls with one leg out to use his foot. He is so strong that he gets in the downward dog position and tries to almost stand. He already almost pulls himself up on things and does for a second sometimes. His determined personality of having to get what he wants and is extremely determined to do so no matter what is in the way, tells me he will be running around in no time. He still wakes up 2-3 times a night, which we will be happy to be done with anytime:) He LOVES the tub and Makayla doesn't like to take a bath with him because he splashes and splashed the whole time and it gets in her face! He is such a fun little guy and we all just love him to pieces! He started to say "dada" when he turned 8 months and you can tell he is trying to say "mom."It comes out as "mmmmmm." He has had a few times where I swear he was trying to wave back at someone so I think that will be coming here shortly too. We love our smoochy and I am so glad he is in our family. He brings so much smiles and laughter into the family!
