Levi-9 Years

It seemed like a good time for a kid update! We will start with the oldest! Levi is such a great kid. I get comments alone those lines all the time. He has such a kind helpful heart and I feel lucky that he is my oldest. Levi is such a hard worker. He understands the concept that after work is play, so he digs right in. He is the first one ready to go, the kid who does his homework on the drive home from school, brushes his teeth probably too short, just so he can do other things! He is loving to read right now. He has dove into the Harry Potter series and loves them just like his dad. He was told he could watch the movies after he read the 5, 6, and 7th. So he dove in! He took a bit to finish the 5th since it is the biggest, but after watching that movie he read the 6th in maybe 2 weeks and is already half way through the 7th since school started. He is doing really well at school and is known in his class as tied for the smartest in the class. His teacher had this to say about him, "It has been such a pleasure getting to know Levi this term. He is an enthusiastic learner and is a role model for our class. He always completes his work in a timely manner and strives to stay focused on the task at hand. He has a strong grasp of reading and math and demonstrates proficiency in both. I am so proud of all that he has accomplished this term." He really is a good role model everywhere he goes. He is still taking piano and never complains, okay not never, but rarely complains about having to practice or go. He has learned so much and it is fun to see him getting better and better. He is better than me! He finished up a fun outdoor season of soccer and has started indoor. He loves indoor, probably more than outdoor! It is fun to see him play with determination! We are going to try another season of basketball and see how he likes that as well here shortly. It is nice to have something to get these boys out and active during the winter. Levi is a Bear in scouts and loves going every week with his friends in the ward. This poor kid has not only had to get used to braces about 2 months ago, but has had head gear added to it this last visit. He once again, barely complained and just does it, but I know it is not fun for him. He will thank me in 5 years!!! We took him in for his 9 year checkup in October and here are his stats:
Height: 4'3-20%
Weight: 52lb 15oz- 8%
We love this kid and his determination to choose the right. When asked what he would say if his coach asked him to play a game on Sunday, he immediately answered, "No." No hesitation. IT reminded me of how wrong and right is so black and white for him and how lucky I am to be his mom. He constantly surprises me with his trying to do better. Him and Zack are trying to read the scriptures before Zack's baptism and he is so determined to do it right along side Zack. He is such a good big brother to his siblings. He is not always willing, but most of the time, jumps right in to help hold hands, piggy back, or hold the baby when we are out or trying to get things done. He is so good with them too! You can tell his little siblings look up to him and mom is lucky they have such a good role model to look up to. I was telling my mom today that Levi is a mini Dan in so many ways. It is so true, even down to looks. They have a similar temperament, caring heart, and really don't let the little things bother him. There is so many things I could say about this boy and we are so lucky he is ours! I can't believe how fast he is growing up!
