Well, I decided to just do all of January in one big fat post instead of breaking it up. So bare with me:)
I did not get out my camera very often, but I did take A TON of my phone.
This cutie has quite the golden locks! I can't get myself to cut them...yet! He is eating solids like a pro and has cut his 7th tooth last week. He is getting so big!
Doing their stretches! Mom's back hurts nightly after tugging around my over 20lb baby around all day, so I am often found stretching. These guys love to join in!After baths Dad combed their hair....
Makayla wanted a picture too:)
We managed to fend it off till this year. Darn all the snow! We will need to fix our roof this Spring...yay. It must have built up and melted hard when it warmed up. We have heat tape but must have not been done right before. DARN IT!
I love catching the ways baby fall asleep. They have no bones, I swear!
My mini mathematician. He likes me to create math sheets to try and stump him. He is so competitive and LOVES to learn. I gave him 23+6, and his response, "It's 29 Mom! That one is easy." Ummmmm not for a Kindergartner!!!!! We love our Zack and his "good brain!" Both our boys are good at math!
One weekend I managed to squeeze in 3 dates! I'm a busy lady! I took Zack on a date to Wendy's, Levi and I cleaned the church followed by doughnuts, and Dan and I went to the temple one snowy Saturday. It was a GREAT weekend!
"No Na-Nigh!" Oh she has the most expressive face. They were singing the "If you have a frowny face, trade it for a smile," song in nursery. She made all the leaders laugh so hard by her expressions. She is very expressive!
The boys started their reading competition at school, so we have been reading reading reading. We made a fort so they could have a reading party! I love that the school makes such a big deal about this. Every year Levi jumped up at least 2 reading levels during this time.
We went down south to spend the night at Grandma and Grandpa's one Sunday night so we could go to the Provo temple opens house the following morning. We had a nice dance party to end the night!
We made it to the temple by 8AM. It was not easy, but it was so worth it! They even kept the spiral staircase! We came here when I was little for Stake Conference and still went once or twice after I married Dan. I was sad when it burnt down, and so glad they decided to rebuild and make it a temple. It was a neat experience to share with my family!
After the temple we went to the car show. The boys are in heaven with picking out their favorite cars. This year they had a crash simulator and a zipline. Makayla was so brave and was begging to go on the zip-line. I sent Dan to distract her because I didn't think there was anyway she would actually go. Well, she ran up right as we were walking in asking AGAIN. So I asked the guy if she was too small. Nope! So, up trotted my tiny 2 year old. This thing was easily 30 feet up and she did it like the big kids. The crowd just was so entertained with this tiny girl trying to throw the football in the bucket on her way down. She is the bravest little girl I know!!!!
We had Lucy over to play and Makayla LOVED it! She still is her best buddy and she just adores her.
Finished my squares, off to make the border! Long fun project, just need more yarn!!!!
My book worm. She hates putting her books away every night.
This boy pulls himself up and I just love getting him out of bed nowadays. You walk in to the biggest smiles!
"MAAAAAAAA!" He is starting the Mom sounds and I love it....most of the time!
My little poser
The boys entered into the Inspirations Program at school. I didn't realize until that day that the boys were in the same age category....oops. So they competed against each other. Zack's went better with the theme so he won this year! Off to Regionals!!!!
I edited these a tiny bit, but wanted to include some of their photos!
Levi went to a birthday party at Bravo Academy and he loved the big bubbles they were inside of.
Our cake in a mug
She dresses up nonstop
More weird sleeping moves!
Levi had a very fun season in Junior Jazz. He learned so much and improved so much. He made at least 2 baskets every game and is becoming quite the little baller. He is fast and a good dribbler and reminds me of his Dad when he plays. I'm excited for more seasons to come!I worked on a project this month. We printed some pictures, got some frames, snuck into Grandma Burkholder's room and hung them up! It is impossible to get family pictures with a large family, so we improvised and put separate photos of each family around one of Dan's mom and dad. It was fun to see old photos of them!
Zack got all 3's and is top of his class. His teacher showed me his scores and said he is the one all the kids try to keep up with. In his report card she said, "Zackary is cooperative and is willing to take part in all classroom activities. He is still progressing very nicely. It is evident that you continue to work with him at home. Extra practice at home will help him to become more confident." She told me they moved him up to first grade reading groups and that he is one of 2 Kindergartners who did. He is currently reading at a level F. We love our Zack and are so happy he loves school and that he is doing so well!
Levi's teacher is a hoot and we love both of them! He got all A's and she wrote in his report card, "Levi is just a dream. A funny little dream student. The first of the year, when Levi was still very serious and stoic, seems like a distant memory. Because now, Levi is always cracking us up with his wit and humor. Levi also continues to delight us with his continued academic growth and improvements. Levi's gain in reading fluency has been especially exciting. He just sounds so much more comfortable reading out loud than he did 5 months ago. Can you hear the difference between his for race-car reading vs. his new expressive reading? (Sometimes he still needs a reminder about speed vs. expression, but overall it's been a huge improvement). It's wonderful to see that his comprehension scores are matching the increase in his fluency. Levi's strongest subject continues to be, what else? Math! He astounds me with his mental computation of numbers. We love that Levi is always up to pushing himself to do harder and harder stuff in math. He's like a math junkie, and can never have enough. Keep it up, Levi, because you have figured out the recipe for 2nd grade success!
Watching David's basketball game!
Lots of SNOW!
My cookie eating buddy
We went to the PJ's and pancakes at the boys school where they read and read and had other read to them. All they really wanted was the pancakes though.
Kayla busted out my old polly pockets and even the boys played with them for quite awhile on Sunday.
I enjoyed Levi's selfie...with curlers!
