Gingerbread Houses and School Perfomance

We have had one last busy week before Christmas vacation. Between Bishopric dinners, volunteering, doctor appointment, school performances, basketball, preschool parties, and prepping for Christmas this mama is ready for a weekend!

For FHE on Monday after a quick run to Costco, we made our gingerbread house. Makayla just sat there and ate the pieces. They boys worked and ate! It was fun and Dan had to remind me to stop being a perfectionist with this little boys who just wanted to dump icing and use all the candy on one spot:) It ended up being fun and we will for sure be doing it again next year!

Grandma came up yesterday for Levi's school performance. Kellie and I took the opportunity to give her our Christmas present we have been working on. We made her a nativity to add to her collection! The crocheting was not bad but the sewing and little details were a little tricky. It turned out super cute and I am excited to make my own next year! The kids loved playing with them, even though we had half at our house and half at the Johnson's! It was fun to get all the pieces together!
After a lunch outing we headed over to Levi's 1st grade Christmas Around the World Program. They had been working on this for the last month. He came home telling me about different countries he had leaned about. At the performance they sang different songs in different languages and Levi's group even did the Mexican Hat Dance. It was super cute and reminded me a little of my Spanish Immersion days. So fun to see him at school with his friends and performing what they had been working so hard on!
