Our November (and a day or two in December) Daily Going-ons

She blows raspberries like you have never seen! Especially while eating Sweet Potatoes, which end up showering mom!
Boys getting creative with the cold weather. Building their "wall."
Made a rug. I won't recommend making your own t-shirt yarn! But, removing that from the equation, it was not too bad. I had to cut 3 rows out because of lack of desire to make MORE yarn. It took 5 yards of fabric cut into 1 inch strips to make this and I would have needed at least 3 more. Nope! Here it is almost done.
Zack has really exploded into reading. He gets so jealous of Levi having homework. So, I make up his homework everyday. He will even put on the "No, I don't want to!" And throw himself on the couch, just like Levi does. But, meanwhile he has a huge smile on his face. He loves having some of that attention, and having something that is just his! So, I whipped out the reading book this past week or so. I skipped ahead a few lessons, just to see where he was at. I had no expectation with blending his sounds, since that is very hard to figure out too little. Well, Zack gets it. I was so suprised! He read all of these words on this page and was so proud of himself, so we had to document the first story he read in his reading lessons! This kid blows me away. Every day Levi is supposed to work on a computer program for homework. Zack will leave his lunch because he, "cannot miss it!" He sits quietly and watches Levi the whole time. You can almost see the little sponge soak it all up!
For family scripture study lately we whipped out the boy's sets of scriptures to have them follow along. Levi had been using our to read his verse, but they were both so excited to have their own. I now find them trying to read them on their own!
Yup, he walked around the corner like this (he was supposed to be getting in his jammies).
Earlier last month we started sight word flash cards for his homework, this was the first word he read all by himself.
One night Dan was swamped at work and did not get home till after the boys were in bed, and left before they woke up. Levi being the huge daddy's boy that he is was so concerned. The next day before Dan got home he had written this on the white board for him. So stinking cute!
The boys were both refusing to sleep on the top bunk of their bunk bed, so what did we do? We chopped them in half. They love it!
 Bestest buds
I had to run to the church one night to grab some primary manuals. We were brave enough to go looking like this! I loved it!
I truly love the impact that family scripture study has on our family. I remember hearing that over and over growing up, and I really feel like now I truly do have a testimony of its impact. These boys really are developing a love for the scriptures, and it blesses all of us with the ability to learn together. I know it has helped Levi with his reading and now Zack is jumping right in. Not to mention the routine. They expect it every night, they do so much better with their own set of scriptures, and I just love that time of the day right now. Such a sweet moment more than a battle like it has been with toddlers! We are also working on memorizing an article of faith each week. We are just starting it, but their little cards are also a big hit. They love passing things off, just like their mom and checklists! Love my little family and love our little moments of the day that we get to be together. Somedays it really is the only moment we get to be together!
