Introducing Graham Lee Burkholder

Since we are celebrating a month with our little guy tomorrow, I thought it would be fitting to finally make this post! And I had a tiny bit of time that is hard to come by these days! We were scheduled for an induction on Sunday the 26th of February, and Graham decided he was fine staying where he was at until then. We got the call that morning that they were pushing me back since they had a busy night. Well that made for a LONG morning of waiting for them to call again. We had gotten up nice and early to make sure we were ready to go before the initial call came too. Well, right when I decided to lay down and take a nap, they called. Of course. So we made it there at noon. They got me all set up, we had to wait a little while for them to pop my water since he was still sitting so high. I was not surprised he was high, as this pregnancy had been one of the easiest I've had. There was little hip pain and I could tell he sat high. They didn't want him to come down on the cord. So more waiting. It was less than an hour after the resident guy popped my water that I was a 10. Well, my doc was walking in to deliver at the other hospital, so I had to try and hold it till he came;) They never put a catheter in, so they guessed my VERY full bladder is what held that baby in till he got there. A half a push later at 5:54pm he came. He is the runt of our kids weighing in at 7lb 6oz and 21.5 in long. He is perfect! He had the cord all sorts of wrapped around his legs, but after a second that crying came and he was here!!!! It is always such a special experience seeing our babies for the first time. It is one Ill never get used to and always is so neat to see these tiny things fresh from heaven. He was definitely worth the wait! It was such an easy delivery for me being he was smaller. I barely had to take any Ibuprofen and was able to sit and walk around with little pain. It was late, so we just face timed the kids. Graham was still nameless at the time and received his first bath. We had a good night sleep and he slept so well, I never had to send him to the nursery! The next day there was some bad snow early on, which caused some delay in getting Grandma Hegerhorst up. So we had a little party with our kids when they came to visit for a few hours after Bada brought them up to see the baby. They loved him! Nate ran straight to me and wouldn't let go. He had some separation anxiety for a week afterwards poor guy. Each kid took turns holding him and then we ordered some lunch for us all and hung out. Dan ran them home when my parents made it. We had ran through name lists for quite awhile that night and some that morning debating and debating on this guys name and we came down to 3 names. Thomas, Wesley, and Graham. We for some reason leaned towards Graham, and went with that nudging feeling. He fits it so well now that I can see why! He was our hardest to name! We ended up checking out that night after Graham had his last tests and circumcision done, pretty much exactly 24 hours after he was born.  He didn't have jaundice like our other last few babies had. I always love getting home to my comfy bed and missed my kiddos! We were blessed with a healthy boy and a good delivery and we have been loving every minute of our crazy chaos of adding another sweet baby into our house. We are so lucky for his little reminder to SLOW DOWN and enjoy this time, because it goes by so dang fast!

Bumpa freaking out when a nurse came in. He got creative to hide!

We called him Mr. bubbles for the first day because he blew a lot of spit bubbles!

Dan wore this hat on purpose, he claims it is his lucky hat and he has worn it at the hospital with all of our kids! What ended up being funnier, was that he wore the same shirt when Nate was born too:)

 BUBBLES
 His first bath

There was a typo on this paper. He was 21 1/2 in long according to the paper they wrote at delivery. Looks like it got copied over wrong!

Our blondest baby I think by far!
 First family photo!
Can't believe these are all mine! We are so lucky to have them!

He was not thrilled about the carseat!
