We had parent teacher conference the first few days of October.
Zack's teacher said he is doing great and smart like his brother! He is almost where they want him to be by the end of Kindergarten so he is doing just fine! She said he is a good example to the other kids, he loves to participate in the action songs/words, and seems to be making plenty of friends. We love our Zack and I am so happy he is doing so well in school!
Levi's teacher said he was a "pleasant surprise!" They also said that he is a good example to the other kids at following instructions and listening in class. They said he is one of the math wizzes in the class and they are excited to push them! He is in the upper level spelling group and in a level L reading group. They said he was a little reserved for the first few weeks, but he is starting to get more comfortable and participating in their crazy brain dances they do! This year has been a little tougher with more homework and expectations at home (computer work, spelling, reading, math, fluency pages, take home readers, and even challenge math work), but we are adjusting and it is fun for me to work with him at home and see how smart he is and how fast he is learning and picking up on this stuff!
Makayla LOVES school! We go into Zack's class on Monday mornings for a few minutes and Levi's on Wednesday mornings. She puts her backpack on sits in an empty chair and pretends she is at school. She cries when we have to leave EVERYTIME! In due time baby girl!
One night me and Kayla went on a date to the ducky pond for a walk. We spent almost an hour just playing and exploring on our way around. We even saw something that looked like an otter but I'm sure it was something else! She had a duck follow her halfway around the duck pond and they would quack at each other along the way!
For a date night we went to our Stake PEC dinner. Which was a cowboy theme. We had some fun dressing up and roping a fake cow that night!
The Johnson's and Grandma and Grandpa came up to help on our basement on a Saturday. We stopped at Kohls for a bit. Shopping with 7 kids 7 and under is always fun, but we were just happy to see them!
They got the tile done and some baseboards up!
We headed down for Nora's birthday party and had Jeni take our family pictures. So, we scouted out some outfits the night before...
Nora's bday party games!
Makayla LOVED the doughnut eating contest. She just dove right in! She probably was wondering why everyone wouldn't just GRAB IT!
Mowing lawn. I spy a little baby in a Bumbo in the middle of the yard:)Hung up our family pictures! I LOVE them!
This past Saturday I ran the Antelope Island half marathon. It was WAY too early to get up considering they made us wait to start until 8am...which is too late for getting up at 5:30! I had a soccer game the night before so my legs started feeling it during the last few miles. But, we finished! The island was a beautiful place to watch the sunrise. We finished in 2:23, not too shabby for having an almost 7 month old baby!
Zack and his "bumbo bum."
This kid has not been feeling the hottest, but he is perfectly happy as long as someone is holding him! I love my little squishy and I can't believe he is 7 months old!
