Whew!!!

It was a busy and a fun week/weekend. Earlier last week we found out that Levi was accepted into the Syracuse Arts Academy. I had never really thought about a charter school, but having a few families in our ward who go there, talking to them, and reading about it, I decided in February that IF Levi got into this one, that would be the only charter school that I would think about sending him to. Well, we got the email early last week that he got in. With some prayer and continuing with our decision making pro's and con's we decided we would regret not trying it out this year to see if we like it. We had heard it was tough to get into and from so many people that it was a good school. Their testing rankings are significantly better than the school Levi was signed up for. I get told they push their kids a little harder and I think that will be good for Levi. So, on we go! After that decision was made it was off to track down a last minute doctors appointment, paperwork, and uniform finding. I was lucky to find a local doctor with an open spot, since apparently it is crazy around back to school time...learned my lesson.

Levi's 5 year check-up. He was not excited for since I told him about the shots. I wanted him to be prepared and he still remembered his flu shot! He loved the attention though:) His stats rounded (I could not remember the ounces or cm:
42 in
38 lb
Both bringing him around 30%. Sounds about right!
For his eye exam he was trying so hard to read the letters. He did good with both eyes open for the most part, but occasionally paused when he covered one eye to make sure what it was. During those pauses Zack would yell the answer out. I tried covering his mouth while I was holding Makayla and he would rip my hand away and yell the next one out. Made the people in the office laugh:) But, Levi passed just fine. I keep my eye on him though with Dan's eyes possibly being passed down!
For his shots Levi was so brave and tried so hard not to cry. When they were done he turned and buried his head in my chest to cover up his tears. The doctor said she hates it when the kids are trying so hard to be brave because it makes her feel so much worse! When he went to pick out his prizes she told him he got one for every shot. Then she turned to Zack and told him he could have one and he quickly added, "I don't want a pokey!"He is too funny sometimes!
Levi is my tender hearted little man. He really is in tune with how he makes people feel. He really tries so hard to help me and is such a good big brother. We will miss having him around when he goes to school!
To entertain Zack while Levi is gone I am doing a mommy preschool with a few ladies in my ward. So Zack will get to go to "school" too twice a week! I am not sure what I will do with myself when they are both gone. It has been awhile since I only had one kid at home!

Friday, we went to pick up brick to lay down in our front yard and Lowe's. While Dan was figuring things out Zack, Makayla, and I went to grab some bags of sand. Right when we walk in this little dog starts chasing Zack INSIDE the store. Zack was mortified and was running screaming. The oblivious owners had one of those leashes that extend like 30ft unless you lock it and didn't even notice till my kid is freaking out. Needless to say I am glad I can control my tongue because all the lady said to me was, "He didn't bite him did he, or was he JUST scared?" (because her spouse smacked the dog and I am pretty sure she was just trying to prove that he didn't bite him by asking me). Then she just walked away. No sorry or anything. OH mama bear was VERY upset! Needless to say, Lowe's got an email from me that night about their animal policy.
After that incident and me having to carry Zack throughout the store because they were blocking the entrance with their dang dog, we pulled around to load up the bricks. The boys both loved loading the bricks and when we got home Zack was a monster! I swear he unloaded almost as much as me! He was a huge help for only being 3! Levi jumped right in too. My good boys! They help me take the groceries in to. I am one lucky mom!
One pic from our crochet stuff:)! Had to have one of Makayla! This is her talking to you face.
My silly billy 3 year old
My getting big too fast 5 year old
They are best buds and it will be tough adjusting to Levi at school! But, I am looking forward to my one on one's with Zack! (Well and Makayla!)

On Saturday we hit up the Lowe's workshop to build the Dusty airplane from the movie Planes. The kids loved their Dusty's! Afterwords we worked a little around the house. Then we went to the movie Planes. The boys loved it and did not peel their eyes off of the screen once! Makayla did really well too (Dan and I got to see the whole movie!!!!). She even fell asleep for the last half hourish thanks to the rocking seats!
