Antelope Island

Since it has almost been a year since we moved here, and since it is only 11 minutes from our house, AND we finally had a free Saturday to find something to do we headed to Antelope Island. We spent a couple of hours driving and stopping at a few of the sites around the park.
First stop: The Visitors Center

You can see the 7 mile Causeway that leads out to the island.

We tasted the water and yes it tasted like salt. Not surprising since it is the Great SALT Lake! There are different percentages of salt in different parts of the island, and the easiest beach to get to is about 25%. So you float a lot easier and my skin pores were burning:) The boys however, LOVED swimming in it. They threw rocks for a good hour and sloshed around in it. Even with showering them off afterwords they still had salt remnants on their faces and in their hair!
There were tons of birds and we will make sure to bring our binoculars next time!

On the side of the road we encountered this guy. The boys love animals and we sat and watched him for awhile. We spotted a few more around but this one was the closest.
Bison View Point- they loved looking for the Bison.
 White Rock Beach
We will definitely be back many more times. I love the many of fun outdoor activities in Utah. That was one of the things I missed the most when we lived in the middle of the barren desert with the nearest mountain 2 hours away!!

Birthdays and Birth Day.

This past week was CRAZY fun!
We started out Friday, my birthday, heading down to Orem. We decided to celebrate the big 25 the next day. So Saturday we headed to Seven Peaks in the morning right when it opened. Perfect time to go! There was barely any people there AND my neighbor got us free breakfast. It was awesome!

I love Emmery's face in this one...she looks like she was SCREAMING!
Zack loved this ride even though for some reason we got soaked at the end every time.
That evening we had Andrew's family down at my parents, and my parents home from their pioneer trek. We had a yummy dinner from Goodwood and then home for pie and ice cream.
After dinner we put our exhausted kids to bed and all the parents (minus my parents who stayed back with the sleeping kids) and headed to the new Batman movie. It was hard not to picture the devastating events that had happened just before in Colorado and what would I do if someone came in the theater with a smoke bomb and a gun! Besides that it was a good movie and a lot of fun!

Monday Kim went in to get induced so we began to plan our trip back down to Orem to visit. We decided on Tuesday since in was pioneer day. So Monday night we slept at Dan's sister Grace's house so Dan could go golfing in the morning with his brother and brother-in-law. We played for a bit, obviously Levi was obsessed with the cats (my allergies were not!).
Then down to Orem. We met DeeAnne and Kent for lunch and then off to visit adorable Garrett Ross Hegerhorst. 7lbs 10 oz of pure cuteness! He even has little dimples. Such a doll! Congrats Andrew and Kim!
We then headed back to Grandma and Bumpa's to help entertain the lucky big brothers!

They spent most of the time drinking the water:)
Such lucky kids to have such a fun Bumpa
We missed my Mom's birthday by one day so we made her a sign. Zack was having a rough morning if you can't tell:) Happy Birthday to my amazing momma!
What an eventful and fun week. Lots of birthdays this past month and added another one. We love taking part in these events and being close enough to have these fun times with family. There is nothing better!

Zoo

We went to the Zoo Monday with Dan's sisters and Mom. It was fun to see the new exhibit with the Polar Bears. The boys love the show Wild Kratts so they LOVE animals right now.

Levi loved the bird show. Zack was a little nervous and would not leave my lap! When they brought out an owl and Levi yelled,"Barn Owl!!!" He knows so much about animals since Wild Kratts and it is so cute:)

We love us some family and the zoo!!!

Levi's Birthday Party

Since Levi's Birthday landed on a Sunday this year, we already did a party for him a couple weeks back (Seven Peaks). So, we saved a few presents and did our own little family party. Levi was so excited and refused to be 4 until he opened his presents. He now walks around saying he can do things because he is 4 now. So much older:)
We opened presents first.
 Cute excited birthday boy!
The present he had been asking for for months! A remote control helicopter. You can see by his face he was only a little excited!!!
He chose pizza for his birthday dinner.
We took a walk to feed the ducks our leftover waffles to walk off dinner, followed by some tramp fun.
Then off to eat the cake and ice cream. He chose a Cheetah cake. Mom is not quite a cake maker but, to make the birthday boy happy we settled on Cheetah skin cake. Black polk-a-dots!
Happy Birthday Levi!
He is now 4 years old!!!!

July 15th 2012- 4 Years Old

Happy Birthday to my sweet sweet little buddy. I can't believe he is 4. He refused to be 4 until he got to open his presents today:) All he wanted was a remote control helicopter and a cheetah cake. He said he was really happy and that he had a good birthday. Love my buddy Levi!

WE DID IT!!!!

We met the Gallups this week at the Gateway splash pad. It has been a year since we have seen them and the kids were a little stand off ish at first. However, it only took a few minutes before Levi and Camryn were running around hand in hand laughing. Miss these guys!

The next day we headed to the Stevenson's house and had water fun with the cousins.

Yesterday, Kellie and I ran a half marathon. It was so fun to dress the same and we loved peoples reactions when they saw us. Apparently we even run the same:) At the last mile a cop directing traffic sent us and 3 others the wrong way. According to Kellie's Nike Plus we ended up running 14.25 miles and our finish time was 2:25. Not too shabby for being the longest we have run in awhile! Grace also ran it with a few ladies in her ward. It was fun to have all the family at the finish line.
Levi was so excited when he saw me and ran over the finish line with me!
