Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend we had way too much fun! I am really sad that it is over. Friday Dan got off early and we hit up Kung Fu Panda 2 with the boys. They did really well and Levi LOVED it. Saturday Dan took Levi to help someone move and Levi did really well. I kept going to check on him to see if he was being a stinker and he kept telling me, "Mom, I don't need to go home. I need to go get more stuff to carry." The next day the girl told me they were really impressed at how good of a helper he was, being only two years old. He helped for almost an hour just carrying little things from the house to the truck! Then Dan took him to a baptism for a kid in our ward. That evening we had a block party. It was SO much fun! There were a few bands that played, bunnies, vendors, and even blowup bounce toys for the kids. Levi played on them for almost 2 hours! Sunday we had a baby blessing/lunch and Levi ran around with his friend Carson. They are the same age and very similar in temperament, so it is very cute:) That evening we had friends from out of town come over for dinner and got to spend some good time with them. Today we got up and went to the Fountain Hills splash pad with some friends. The boys of course had a blast. We got a little sun, but so worth it:) Tonight we had a BBQ with some friends and did fireworks. It has been an amazing weekend full of our little family, friends, and lots of fun things to do! Wish we had 4 day weekends every weekend:)

Block Party

He got to hold some bunnies and did not want to let them go. They were kind of cute:) Maybe that will be our next pet:) I can picture Dan shaking his head right now!
The bounce toys Levi could not get enough of.

Made the boys some bow ties for church:) Zack would NOT hold still.
Fountain Hills
It was a little cold at first:)
Eating the bread instead of feeding it to the ducks

chasing the ducks

Not only would they not stop chasing the poor ducks, they had to sit on the duck statues.

the stink face again...
This is all I could get out of Zack trying to make him smile. I guess that is what he thinks of me and my camera these days.

hey batter batter batter! swing batter batter batter!

Levi LOVES baseball as of recently. So with his new equipment we headed out to play today. I have some silly boys and I love catching their personalities with the camera.
Levi's "hat," followed by a huge laugh!
Zack picked up on the idea really quick.
Zack has the funniest facial expressions so I caught a few to share. He cracks me up:)
My future all-star
another good one:)

I had to add a picture of Levi on one of our many swimming expeditions lately. This year he decided to be terrified to put his head under the water. Last year he was fearless! So here is him putting everything but his face in!

i must have a house of boys...

I think the reason I went to nursing school was not to be an actual nurse in the hospital, but a nurse to my boys. I came a little more prepared for all the busted open lips, black eyes, and burns we have had so far! I cannot explain how hard it is to see my babies get hurt. I can only imagine the love our Heavenly Father has for each of us and how he does all he can to help us through our trials/pain, but we do have trials and he watches us go through hard things. I can give huge kisses, I can warn them of danger, give them tylenol, I can run along side them, but kids get hurt and have pain. I want to take all the pain away. It is so hard to watch them suffer. Yesterday Zack went out on our patio while we were making dinner. We were grilling last night so the grill was on. We have done this several times before, which now we will never do again. They usually play toys outside while we grill. Well, Zack was right by Dan and just took off straight for the grill. Dan stopped him before he put his hand on it, but his wrist skid it on his way back. When Dan brought him in I remembered having the distinct feeling when I let him go outside that this was not a good idea. I remembered telling myself, "we do this all the time. He never plays with the grill. Dan is out there, he will be fine." I ignored the prompting from the Spirit. I know my boys are watched over! It could have been A LOT worse than it was and I am extremely grateful Dan is super fast:) I prayed so hard that Zack would not be in too much pain, I hate burns! We ran his arm in cold water, which he hated. It is such a hard age to keep them still! So, we put him in a cool tub. He was perfectly fine after we gave him tylenol and wrapped it up. He slept like a baby. I think the picture makes it look worse than it is. It didn't even blister. But, it still looks pretty nasty. He lost a few layers of skin but it didn't go too deep. Which is why I think he did not suffer too long. Levi's hand was another story. I actually think that was a worse burn with blisters. He would not even take his hand out of water for over 6 hours and fell asleep with his hand in the water. Zack acted completely normal after twenty minutes. So here are pictures of my poor baby. We love him so much and it is hard to see anything bad happen to these little sweet babies.

WARNING: may be a little graphic!

Levi holding his little brother. He sure has one of the sweetest personalities. I was holding Zack and he turned to me and said, "It is my turn to hold him."

The girls...Krista had already left!
Stopped to see the temple on our way out.

Walked across the new bridge at Hoover Dam. Pretty high and REALLY windy! Levi loved the bridge.

Levi wanted to see the water and bridge the whole rest of the way home!
