Memorial Day Weekend 2012

Memorial Day Weekend was CRAZY but so much fun! Friday we had The Stevenson's and Bada over for  a few hours. Sam and David joined Dan and Levi on our Stake Father and Son's campout. Here are a few pictures my neighbor sent me since the camera I sent with Dan was dead! Levi had a lot of fun.

The next day after they got back we cleaned up and headed down to a Fun Center in West Valley. We met Grace and Bada there to reunite them with Grace's boys:)

Levi loved the carousel and Zack most definitely did not!

 Levi wanted to ride the bumper cars so bad! About half way through someone bumped him hard and he started to cry. Dan sat there the rest of the time by him while he kept getting smacked trying to calm him down. It was pretty funny:)

 This is about 2 seconds away from Zack having another melt down. Apparently he does not like things that move.

We had good visit at the Burkholder's in West Valley. While there Zack ran under a swing (while I was right there and had been guarding the swing for almost 20min before that and looked away for a second to answer a question!), and got plowed down by a swinger. The swing nailed the back of his head causing him to face plant it really really hard. He ended up with a bit tongue and yet another big goose egg. This kid is so accident prone and just a tank. He is so unaware of his surroundings!
We got to FINALLY meet Joel and Courtney's baby girl and then we headed home for the night. The next day after church however, we jumped back in the car and headed down to Orem. Where we spent Sunday night and Monday.

 I walked down to find all the kids and grandma on one couch and the other couch completely empty! Guess they must love their grandma!

 Monday afternoon after a golf session and a shopping session, we all hiked Battlecreek canyon. Yes, all. Even pregnant Kim in sandals!

The we headed back for a BBQ and home. Such a fun filled weekend and ready for a few low key days:)

sometimes it really is better to do less...

Something that I am glad I read and I want to hang it on my wall. This is really important to me and in our home. Such a good reminder of what is really important! I have had several moments in the past year that have made me realize how blessed I am to be a mother and how lucky I am to have 2 sweet boys. I love these reminders to help me in my sometimes difficult journey of mommyhood.

Everything is so much better when we do it together, even if it is not the fastest way. Here is to doing my best everyday and making everyday count. As I have heard several times, I hear it goes by way too fast. Now off to give my sleeping boys a couple extra kisses tonight because I just need it today!

Summer Lovin

This is the kind of stuff we have been up to lately. Since we LOVE having a backyard and Dan refuses to turn the air conditioning on, we have passed some of the hot part of the day doing water fun! We have ran through the sprinklers, stuck one under the tramp, slip-n-slide, and a little pool. Did I say I love having a backyard?!

Mother's Day Weekend

For Mother's Day we headed down to my parents on Saturday and stayed through Sunday. As always we got to hang with family and had fun doing so.

Days like today and pretty much everyday, remind me that I am the luckiest girl alive. I have the most supportive and genuinely kind husband who would do anything for me and our family, and 2 of the cutest little boys who show me unconditional love. I am the LUCKIEST mom alive! To top it off I was blest with 2 amazing role models in my two moms, my mom, and momma Burkholder. Love you all!

The Great Outdoors

We have had SO much fun living by the pond! My boys are in heaven with all the things we can do and see there. This past Saturday we were working in the yard trying to get rid of some bird nest problems and some vouls. To Levi's excitement, Bada found some more eggs! This time he did not squish them to see if there were baby birds in them. They are still sitting in this container and he is hoping the mom will come back and sit on them so they will hatch. I think we will have one disappointed 3 year old!  

 A few days ago we saw some kids in our ward fishing with nets and the boys were so excited! The kids had even caught a few little ones. So we gave it a shot. We did not catch a thing but it was fun!

Lately there have been some pelicans that keep coming back. We get to see all sorts of animals at the pond including, fish, snakes, frogs, ducks, and all sorts of birds. Some kids claim to have found a few turtles and frogs. We will see! I just love having the outdoors so close to help provide some fun outdoor activities for the boys.
