and it came to pass...

For awhile now when we read the scriptures, we have had Levi copy us. Now since a lot of verses in Nephi start out, "And it came to pass, that I Nephi..." Levi now automatically starts out, "And it came to pass, that I Levi....(and last night added) was nice to mom and dad!" He is such a good example of likening the scriptures to yourself:) Such a sweet kid!

YeeHaw!

We got to go ride horses again today, but this time Levi's friend Carson came along. Carson brought some sweet cowboy gear, so we had some fun! The pics turned out super cute and we had a lot of fun!

LEVI The FISH..."No I am just Levi!"

At the beginning of his swimming lessons 2 weeks ago Levi would cry every time you put his head in the water. As you can see, after the 2 weeks he LOVES to go under the water. When it was not his turn to practice swimming, him and his friend Carson would look for stuff under the water.

The last day of class she let them jump off the diving board if they wanted. Levi was all over it.

This is what Zack would do if we did not stop him. He is signed up to start next week!

His buddy Carson. They are two peas in a pod these two! Both had their blue goggles and only 3 months apart. They have a lot of fun together!

They are both signed up for 2 more weeks of classes. Hopefully they will both progress just as much these next few weeks and then I can take them by myself this summer! I tried to upload a sweet underwater video of both the boys, but blogger won't let me. Maybe later!

R.I.P

1994 Saturn

Well, this car was the first one we bought when we were poor college students and it has served us well. We went to bed last Saturday night with it parked in its usual spot. When we went out to go to church the next morning it was just gone. Someone stole our beloved Saturn! It has been hit 3 times since we have been married and paid for itself. It may not have air conditioning but, it got Dan to work every day and we have had NO problems with it for 3 years. Sad to say, the cops are still on the look out for our car. According to Levi, "the naughty men took our car. They are very naughty." We were shocked at first. How many people get there car stolen right in front of their house?! All keys accounted for. So needless to say we were on the lookout this week for a new car, and we found one! We were aiming to buy a Sienna in about 6-8 months, but this will do just fine!

Mazda 5 2009

We now have room to grow with two more seats in the second row.

It is a mini mini van! As my brother in-law describes it, "If a mini-van and a Mazda 3 had a baby, this would be it." It drives like a sedan. It gets 27 HWY mpg and we got it with 14,800 miles on it. We feel like we got a sweet deal and feel very blessed. Dan went to work the next morning after buying it to find out that he got a raise for almost the amount every month we will be paying for the new car. I sure have a testimony of tithing and know that Heavenly Father knows us and blesses us in so many ways!

Added note: We paid extra to get a sweet car alarm on this car and went and bought a steering wheel club for our Corolla the next day!

Summer Time!

I think it has officially made it to over 100 degrees is normal down here. Boo. So here is to stinky hot summers in AZ and what we do when it is too hot to go outside:)

Underwater Camera

We wanted to get a point and shoot camera for those times I couldn't/didn't want to bring my big camera along. Costco had a camera that went underwater and I was sold. That is all we are doing this summer!

Note: No kids were harmed in these shots. Despite the looks on their faces they love to go under the water!

CARS

Last week one of the outdoor malls had life size remote control cars come to prep us for CARS 2. I was way excited to bring the boys! Well the line was huge and not worth hours in the sun when we could get as close as we did. They were excited and ended the afternoon off with the splash pad!

Another fun week in the house of the Burkholders. No terrible accidents and lots of fun!

Cape making competitions. We took some t-shirts, cut them up and put felt on the back. I made Zack's and Dan made Levi's. I have to say, Dan did pretty well.
