Craftaholic

Well, lets just say having a house makes me want to do so many different crafts. With the funds allotted in the last month I did a few things to our family room. We are still in the process of the other half of the room, but here are a few pics of my latest creations:)
yarn lamp shade from a cheap one we had from Target I think.
throw pillows

remember this sick couch cover.... (we really are not that messy I took these in process of the move because I wanted pictures of our first home we owned and still do:) )
Finally one I like! A little wrinkly but oh well. Also curtains and picture frames to match.
On to the next project!

It Was A Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Christmas morning! Levi ran around the corner to the Christmas tree when we asked him if he thought Santa had come.

Train table.
Loved this picture after church:) He even had long plaid blue church socks on which made the whole outfit and I missed it!

Burkholder family kid white elephant. Levi was pretty upset that he had to keep passing "his present" away. Toward the end he just stared straight forward with a big grumpy face and his cousins next to him just passed it for him.

Our furnace was being a stinker Christmas morning. We ended up spending the night at Dan's sister Grace's house Christmas night and got it fixed the next day. When we got there to meet the guy to fix it, our house was a big 48 degrees inside. So, for a few hours the boys and I snuggled up under a heated blanket and watched a movie until our heat came back on. It was FREEZING inside.
Another fun gift from Santa. Zack is currently terrified of the balls inside the tent. We will need to try him in it without them inside.
It was a great Christmas and the first one we spent at home with our little family. It was SO much fun! I love having kids and love seeing their sweet excited faces!

Christmas Village

Tonight for family home evening I discovered this fun little place. I drove by it one day during the day and we decided to come back and check it out one evening. I am so glad we did. It was at the Ogden government buildings and they put together a Christmas Village. There were tons of lights and probably 50 ish little houses that various different companies/groups decorated the insides. You just walk around looking inside these little houses with different Christmas scenes. We saw some Grinch, Polar Express, Santa, Rudolph, and more. The boys were a little cold at the end so we didn't even think of waiting in line for Santa...again. But, it was a lot of fun and probably will become an annual thing.
The picture does not even do it justice. There was a whole block of this:
With little houses to peek inside. There were even little kid windows just for the tiny ones to peek through.

Some even had buttons you could push to start trains, or songs or something.

Love me some family time:)

SANTA! LIGHTS! FAMILY!

We had our ward Christmas party on Friday night. It was really fun and I wish I would have known when Santa was going to walk in because Levi's face was priceless. He was so excited and his little body was just shaking with excitement. When all the kids were running up to get in line he started right on after them, checking behind him yelling, "Mom! Hurry up!" While waiting in line I asked him what he was going to ask Santa for and I didn't even finish my question and he yelled, "AN AIRPLANE!" I have loved having a kid that is actually knows what is going on. It makes Christmas just that much more fun!
Saturday afternoon we headed down for the Hegerhorst's annual dinner. We met at Spaghetti Factory this year, which was a tradition when we were kids, and then headed over to see the temple square lights. It was fun to spend time with family and to see the lights at the temple. It was a little cold for the little ones but, my kids did better than me. I was the one who could not feel my feet at the end! They loved the lights and the cousins. Can't wait to spend more family time this holiday season.
I know the Santa, whoever he was, looks a little creepy. Okay, a lot creepy. I laughed so hard when I saw these pictures to the point of tears. But, he really was a nice Santa. He sand to the kids and was good. I think his beard kept getting in his eyes. Made for a good picture though:)

Party Time!!!

I would have to say, Daniel's birthday was a success. We had a lot of fun as a family. We met him with cookies for lunch. After work we ordered out Chili's (since we don't really enjoy eating out with our kids too often:) ). We followed that by cake, which the boys both helped me make earlier that day along with all the decor. Zack screamed in excitement when Dan blew them out. He has developed quite the loud scream! Levi even sung half the birthday song all by himself. So cute! Then we gave him his presents. Well, he sort of already opened most of them. The boys loved it, I loved it, and I know Dan had to of with those cute little faces waiting for him to come home and excited to show him everything they did for his birthday! Such a fun night!
Notice some of the decor above:) Glitter glue. Kind of messy but TONS of fun!

Happy Birthday TO YOU!!!!
AHHHHHHH!
I had to add pictures of our cold walk this morning. We went to check on the crazy ducks who stick around all winter.
Levi's expression as he said, "Mom, the ducks are coming to get us!"
They really were just looking for food:)

Happy Birthday Daniel!

Happy 29th Birthday to the sweetest, goofy, best dad, and my best friend. Love you sweetie!

Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer

And another of Zack's black eyes. He fell on a car in his hand. He is rarely seen without an armload of cars.
